At Lagerhaus we are working actively to offer products that contribute to a better world. We label these products "Wiser choice". In order for products to be labelled as "Wiser choice" and display our green owl symbol they must show extra consideration for people and the environment.

Recycled

Products that are completely or mostly manufactured from recycled material. The raw materials come from scraps from the production process or from waste. Using recycled material not only saves the earth's resources, it also contributes to a more circular and sustainable economy.

We want these products to be certified under the Global Recycled Standard or the Recycled Content Standard.

Social Responsibility

Products produced with great respect for those working in agriculture and in factories. All employees must receive fair pay and have a reasonable working environment. These products are certified by independent organisations such as Fair Trade.

Organic

Organic means that raw materials or ingredients have been grown without the use of chemical pesticides or artificial fertiliser. This contributes to a better environment and more often than not it is also positive for the health of those working and living in the vicinity.

We only accept products that are organically certified by established organic certification bodies. For textiles, we accept Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and Organic Content Standard.

Eco-labelled

There are several independent eco-labelling organisations that examine and audit cultivation methods, processes and products to highlight those with less environmental impact than traditional products. They audit the environmental impact throughout the life cycle, from raw material to waste.

We accept products that have been audited and approved by the Nordic Swan, Bra Miljöval and EU flower schemes. We also accept wood and paper products with FSC certification, Forest Stewardship Council, which means that the forest has been managed in a way that helps to preserve biological diversity.

Swedish Asthma & Allergy Association's Blue Swallow

Products awarded the Swedish Asthma & Allergy Association's Blue Swallow must not contain perfume or other irritants.
