Paper
Paper is a versatile and widely used material that plays an important role in our daily lives. It is primarily made from wood fiber but can also come from recycled materials, which reduces the need for new wood raw materials and contributes to a circular economy.
HOW WE PRODUCE OUR
Wrapping paper
For over 25 years, we have produced our gift wrapping paper in Alingsås. By Christmas 2024, we will reach our goal of having 100% of this year's paper assortment produced in Sweden. For the popular gift wrapping papers, we use FSC-certified® raw materials from sustainably managed forests in Europe, and the production uses green electricity labeled with BraMiljöval. The colors used to print the gift wrapping paper are water-based to protect both the environment and employees. Producing closer to the customer means shorter transport distances and therefore a smaller carbon footprint. FSC-certified products are made from wood sourced from responsible forestry that considers nature, animals, and people (FSC N002329).
FROM PLASTIC TO
Paper
Many of our products have transitioned from plastic to paper, such as our pennants, gift ribbons, and hangtags, which reduces plastic usage and promotes both recycling and reuse. We use FSC-certified® paper in many of our packaging materials and have also replaced virgin plastic with paper and plastic made from sugarcane in the packing of items in our warehouse.
HOW WE USE
Recycled paper
We use recycled paper in products such as hangtags, gift boxes, and gift bags. Our gift boxes consist of at least 50% recycled material.
WHAT WE DO TODAY
Swan-labeled paper
We offer Swan-labeled paper in several of our products, such as disposable items, postcards, and napkins. The Swan label is a renowned Nordic environmental certification that sets stringent requirements for the environmental impact of products throughout their entire lifecycle.
